Video round-upA further selection of cycling-related videos for your amusement: Biomega, Animas, Tati and an Alfine update... Sue Archer writes: Cycle Chic in San Francisco Danish bike makers Biomega pointed us towards this video of a Biomega Puma being taken on a ride around San Francisco. The bike was available for loan free of charge from the W Hotel, which has a neat hoisting bike rack. Cycle Chic Goes to San Francisco from Copenhagenize on Vimeo. Animas goes off road Greg Fisher sent us a link to this video of the Animas quadracycle showing just what it can do away from smooth tarmac. Looks like it might even handle some of our potholed roads here in the UK... Music wherever you ride? If you like to listen to a bit of music while you ride, but think earphones might be dangerous, how about kitting your bike out with some speakers like those in this video from the Velorution blog. They featured in the film Made in Queens, and you can see the bikes and their audio specs on the film's website. When your bike decides to go for a ride without you... Finally, back to Velorution for this classic clip from the film Jour de Fete, showing what could happen when you leave your bike leaning against moveable object... For those who haven't seen the film there are a number of clips on YouTube, showcasing Jacques Tati's physical comedy, much of it involving his bicycle. Or buy the DVD - much of the film is dialogue free, so non-French speakers won't miss out! Peter Eland adds: Alfine extra We reported on the new 11 speed version of Shimano's Alfine hub gear last week after seeing the news on a German website. Well, apparently the official UK launch was at the Shimano house show the next day. I don't usually bother going to these events, as there's usually little in the way of news to be gleaned beyond new ATB and road race groupsets. But this year there was... ah well. Anyway, the people at road.cc did go along, and they got to test the new hub as you'll see in this video on road.cc. Their report suggests the UK price may be between £300 and £400.
