Recumbent jerseys with front pockets

Hello all!

Welcome in the year 2012! Lots of health and luck, for the rest we will have to take care ourselves winking smiley

In 2011 I already organised a 5th recumbent meeting in Slovenia ( [youtu.be] ) and I am always asked where I got that special jersey with front pockets that I always wear on my recumbent.

So with a help of Tatjana Kovic who has a small private company producing cycling clothes, we decided to offer adapted clothing for recumbent cyclists. We optimised the design together with Aleksej Dolinšek and will be presenting our products at SPEZI in Germersheim. Everything is made in EU and all the production is done in Slovenia by Tatjana and her husband Miran.

You can check out the collection at [www.tobi.si] and use this opportunity to preorder at special SPEZI prices. You can than pick up your order in Germersheim or we can mail it to you.

My idea is to make the complete collection where a recumbent cyclist can find what he/she needs on a bike in every season. At Spezi you will therefore also be able to try out adapted winter clothing. We welcome any suggestions or ideas and hope to see you at SPEZI.

Best regards from Slovenia,
Peter Osterversnik

I've given permission for this post BTW, and we should also have a review of the clothing in an upcoming issue :-)

Nice looking clothing: I like the recumbent themed graphics.

One observation: it took me a while to work out what a "divisible zip" is !! I think "full length zip" may be a clearer translation !!

(If Peter is going to going to review them, then I may wait on his verdict !! Or try them on at the SPEZI (is it really nearly that time again ?!).)

That looks great smiling smiley

I hadn't seen clothing adapted for recumbents before and this seems fantastic!

Looking forward to the clothing review in the upcoming issue. Would that be upcoming as in next or upcoming as in in a few issue's time?

Hello All!

I prepaired a short video demonstration extended/short cut and high/low pocket position.

[youtu.be]

I prefer the full length zip and I like to use the jersey also when in the mountains wearing my backpack with a hip strap. Thus the idea about the higher pocket position.

Full length zip jersey will have a shorter standard cut as the zip will otherwise form bumps in a recumbent position. For the short zip jersey the length is not so important and they will be longer as standard. But you can choose your preferred cut for both versions when ordering.

Best regards,
Peter

A visual comparison between short and extended version of a jersey with full length zip:

And an example of high pocket position with a backpack and hip strap closed:

This is for those of us who like to use the same jeryes also in the mountains or when running smiling smiley

Hi Seamus, it's OK by me where it is - happy to give a start-up venture of such a specialist product a helping hand with some exposure. If it takes off I'm sure they'll consider advertising :-)

OK.

The right pocket could be used for an advert.

Say, "VeloVision."

Seamous, that is actually possible. As the jerseys are printed one by one, so text can be changed according to someones wishes. that is why we will offer customers to choose their color for one of the designs. So you can have a jersey of your preferred color or the same as your recumbent winking smiley

Peter, thank you for the chance. I hope to be able to develop this further as I have plans to also make a special version for handbikers and also later for MonoSki users as each of these sports has special needs and all those markets are so special that big companies will not cover...

I also hope I can some day advertise in VeloVision. We will start of with Spezi this year and see how our recumbent coleagues will accept it. I guess everything that is not standard appeals to me smiling smiley

I guess we could do something like offer a VeloVision recumbent clothing for VeloVision subscribers ... perhaps some day, if Peter finds it interesting... The couple who makes these jerseys are very nice people and we can adapt.

Best regards from Slovenia,
Peter

I have a Dutch HPV Jersey with front pockets. The full length zip is a bit of a pain, I wish I'd gone for a part zip, because if the zip goes all the way down the loaded pockets swing the jersey wide open and the pockets gape open. So you lose things from them! Arghh!

Hmm, interesting observation. Have to try it out. I espacially like the full zip because then I do not have to pull the jersey over my head. But I always have the zip closed all the way during use...

Great designs and easily the best front pocket jerseys I've seen, they seem very well thought out. Nice colours too.

However, I don't have a body that suits figure hugging lycra and have recently tended towards freeride mtb style jerseys for my laidback riding - like a baggy (flattering!) t-shirt design with 3/4 sleeves. I'd buy these if they were offered in that style or even as an off bike cotton t-shirt.

I hope you have plenty of stock to sell at Spezi, I think you'll sell loads!

Cheers

Oddball, hello!

I guess there are lots of people like you that would like something less figure hugging. If you'd like you can send us dimensions and your wishes and we could make also something in that style for you.

Thank you for the compliments, I hope your predictions come true smiling smiley

Peter

You can also get these types of jerseys from the Bacchetta website. They are excellent quality.
