"BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: July 14, 2012 08:13PM Bike Right 18
Friday 26th October – Sunday 28th October 2012 The Youth Hostel (30 Cheviot Street) is booked from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. There are plenty of centrally heated bedrooms (most sleep 4), a large common room, well-equipped kitchen and hot showers! There are four new shepherd’s huts – each of which sleep 2 people – I will allocate these to the first 4 couples who request, and pay for, them! There are also some new en-suite rooms. I allocate rooms on a fairly ad hoc basis so if you have any special requests let me know and I’ll do my best – but can’t promise to meet them all! This is a self-catering event – there is a late shop in Wooler as well as pubs, cafes & takeaways. The programme is likely to be very similar to previous years – with the emphasis on cycling and socialising. We will try to have a limited number of cycling related slideshows on the Friday and Saturday evenings—but with plenty of time for talking to one another!! I’m assuming that the usual suspects will be planning routes and leading rides…………… The cost will be £30 per person for the two nights – please send you cheque (Payable to Glendale Gateway Trust) to: Rachel Sinton Cheviot Centre 12 Padgepool Place Wooler NE71 6BL bikerightwooler@gmail.com Please email bikerightwooler@gmail.com me in the first instance to ensure you go onto the email database at the new email address – (to keep the costs down all communication this year will be via email) – letting me know how many people and any room requirements etc – then pop your cheque in the post. Let others know if you think they might have missed this first email which Jason is distributing for me – all future bookings etc should be to me not him. To book additional nights at the Youth Hostel please do this directly with the Hostel on 01668 281365 or via the website: www.yha.org.uk Any enquiries about Bike Right should come to me at 01668 282406 or via bikerightwooler@gmail.com Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? I don't know if I'm going but at least I'm paid for it. so on the news that a railway company are electried thier lines and it the tax payers and their pasegers that are going to pay for it. Surely it company should pay for it and get the money off their passenger for ever. Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Although due to Alfred's injury (torn Achilles tendon, so far he's had 6 weeks in a Beckham Boot), he may not be capable of riding far even by then. If the worst comes to the worst, we'll drive to cafes and meet folk! If I had a baby elephant, it could help me wash the car. If I had a car. Also often found on www.cyclechat.co.uk Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Sick of this blooming fog. The map showed snow on the hills. Looking forward to it even if I get trapped up there. Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: October 24, 2012 05:49PM Yes, I've been monitoring the weather forecast for over a week and the main foresasters online seem to be moving to dry and cold for Friday/Saturday, but wet on Sunday. Date: October 29, 2012 03:56PM Bike Right was very good this year and smite of a getting a puncture 0.85 miles into my ride.
Went for a walk a the 'ride' that I didn't do on both days. It was a ride that Tom Johnston and me took to somewhere on the other side, I only went across 2 fords and 1 other at Haugh Head. I think it was the ride on the second Bike Right. The fords were at Coldgate Mill, between Middleton and Ilderton and at Haugh Head, At Haugh Head at saw lots of fish leaping up the weir on the Sunday. No picture of the fish leaping. Plenty of the water. How odd that on the fisrt Bike Right we how loads of recumbent bike and trikes but now have touring bikes and Bromptons instead. 3 recumbent trikes and a Dahon folder as well. I gave a pressies to Jason and Rachel for organing it. jason didnt have a piccie of the Bike Righters this time. Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: November 01, 2012 05:22PM It was Dwarf Bike Right cos the sleeping shelters were only for less than 6 feet tall and those Bromptons good only for those less than 6 feet tall.
even if they have telescopping seat posts. Dwarf- anyone less than 6 feet tall, or so Stuart Swann said at Old Hall School. Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: November 02, 2012 04:35PM Am sure that both Jason and Trevor are over 6 feet, so not dwarfs, so what were they riding on Sunday??? (certainly looked like Bromptons to me, but as I am getting old and decrepit now, I could be mistaken)
And I claim the puncture prize - I "only" had 8 in 257 miles (including the rides there and back) (though one could be disqualified, as it was as a result of the a patch not sticking, so the tyre went down again after 300 yards or so (approx 300 metres for modern people)) John Turvey Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? You probably didnt unsturnd my bad writing (Grrr again) On a bike, what hits the bike is feet, hand, bum, the feet hit the pedles, Not problem with that. Bum on the sadles on the telescoping seat post. ok with probly. the hands hit that relly little handbrs* so low down. A picture would be good here. Imagime that little Brompton with Ken-The_Perite on it. Now with either Jason or Trevor on it. it doesnt suit them does it. They have other bikes the the pirate coulnt ride cos he too small. The pirate has other bikes they Jason and Treveor couldny ride cos they too big* *Spelling is Grrr. *the right size Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: November 02, 2012 06:36PM Punctures are bad!
You ought be looking for something that stops them insteads* of bragging that you got more if them. The Schwalbe Marathorn Plus stops them. I had one back tire these on my Trice and it had one puncture, The Schwalbe Marathon Supreme stops them. These are what I had on my Surly Trucker. No punctures yet. *this word is wrong but I cant get the right word out of my head and spell it write. Thanks to one of the Stokes I had years ago. GRRRR Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: November 02, 2012 10:41PM The last puncture was in the back wheel where I did have a Schawlbe Marathon Supreme tyre - that was the sixth puncture in that tyre in 900 miles - mind, the first 5 were in the first 60 miles with the tyre, and I am almost certain they (the first 5 punctures) were a result of using carefully pre-thorned tubes from the Ellesmere Get Cycling holiday.
I am now using a Marathon Plus on the back wheel of my Ti-Rush and have had no punctures yet (but only 600 miles so far). John Turvey (This has been a really bad year for me for punctures - I had so many in January I started keeping a rough record (the first time I have ever tried to record all my punctures - I normally only do it when away on tour) and have had about 45 in 6,500 miles so far this year. LESSON Never (NEVER) record the number of punctures. Re: "BIKE RIGHT," again. 18? Wow.

Date: November 03, 2012 04:25PM On my cycle ride on Saturday I came across lots of thorn clippings from where there where clipping.*
On my walk on Saturday I saw the farmer cutting him thorn trees by the Coldgate Mill. On my walk on the Sunday I went beyond Coldgate Mill. There was so many thorn clippings, I am sure that I have had too many punctures on my bike and was glad that I was walking instead. "VeloVision," ought to do summat on the best tires to not puncture. *that made so much sense when I wrote it down but no anymore. Would you like to to post a message or a reply?
