Yo, cycling along noticed 2 pairs of swallows on Sunday 25th of April and a lone one on Wednesday. These are the first I've seen this year in South Derbyshire.

I remember noisy flocks of them as a kid. Ayone else spotted 'em yet?

Yes two swallows on the 28th and unusually two Buzzards Just North of Stockton on Tees. I've never spotted Buzzards in the area before.

I do a Breeding Bird Survey for the British Trust for Ornithology. Last Wednesday we were surveying up the Glen above Moniaive, SW Scotland and saw several pairs. The first this year. It really felt like spring had come.

I'm looking forward to the first evening I hear the swifts screaming down my street...

If I had a baby elephant, it could help me wash the car. If I had a car.

10 Buzzards in a stack on a thermal near Twycross Zoo this week

Lots of wee black birds with pointy wings seen this week could have been swallows or swifts

Lapwings been about for ages

Geoff - glad to hear you have buzzards at last up there

When you get that many Buzzards you have to suspect they're vultures circling a body!!!

Yes first ones I've ever seen in my adopted county.

Someone will be along in a minute to tell us there are millions of them and I should go to the opticians!

No Arch he was at a school in Nottingham being supportive to the kids at school - he comes from Fife like Ian Rankin and Jack Vetriano so he must be good.
