Garmin 305 + Maps

I have not seen this covered before so I thought >I would just tell you what I have found out.

I have had a Garmin Edge 305 for a while now but I have not been able to find a site where I can plan a route and download it to the Garmin without having the brains of a rocket scientist.

This week I found a site called Marengo GPS Route Planner.

I have nothing to do with Marengo but I have tried it and it is simple to use and works really well.

I think you get a weeks free trial and then it is ?4.99 for a year.

I have been using it for a week and it is simple to download your routes onto it. I am useless with computers, so when I say simple I mean it.

One of the good things about it is that before you need to change direction the Garmin beeps at you and displays the turn information both in direction and a countdown in metres. Apparently the backlight also lights up but I have not used it in the dark.

So there you for what it is worth. Very simple to use and very effective when it is on the bike.

What more could you ask for?

Steve

What is wrong with Bikely.com? It is free and works easily enough...

I tried Bikely.com Rob but Marengo is much easier to use. I always had problems with dupicate plotting with Bikely for some reason.
