What's in your weekend ?

Yo, "Tested!; have one!"

Saturday, first visit to D-Tek, met Kevin (genius). What a pleasure and a national treasure. Anyone able to get down , should do so. It's nearly as good as beer. Then onto Ely, smallest cathedral in UK and a good place to visit.

Sunday, return of the Sun, either that or it was a damn big lightbulb. Went out on the trail with the Spud , who had his trike apart when I phoned.
First small hill, " I've got no brakes"... " use the back one"... "can't, took it off"...Oh.
The Spud managed to tighten up his front hub cable , which gave him a stopping distance of a small airfield.
Out on the road we encountered the winner of the eldest Sunday driver without a brain contest. I think he'd donated it to Macdonalds. He overtook me and swerved into the decreasing gap between myself and the Spud.
I think that his hearing aid was working, as I discharged my whole Airzound, to which he pathetically sounded his horn. We waved him farewell in the old customary way.His good lady glared at us with bared false teeth beneath her violet rinse .

The Spud thought that I'd have been runover. Now call me a modern man, but the kiss of life, no way Jose.
Ha, hope that all of you had an excellent weekend.

Believe it or not Nick I have just had a long weekend in Switzerland on my Moto Guzzi California to ride some passes and the Stelvio Pass. I would love to trike down there.

It was hot and sunny for the 4 days I was there. A wonderful time. 1885 miles and I am glad I have the rest of the week off.

Oh, I want to do the Stelvio... Downwards, of course, on the trike.

For a really amazing hairpin road, scroll down through the photos on this page, posted on Cyclechat.

Closer to Denmark too!

Top Gear found that amazing road in Romania too, even better than the Stelvio they reckoned.

I know what you mean Geoff, I call it an agricultural motorcycle myself but it is bomb proof and runs all day at 90mph without any complaints. It has character and is great to look at.

I did have a "motorbike" before this one but sold it because loads of people had the same motorbike. I am a bit of an individual.

Hi Sue, I keep on intending to go to Norway as I have never been and everyone says how nice it is. The only 2 things that put me off is that it is often cold and is always very expensive. The Stelvio pass is the one in Europe to ride down. Once the road runs out into the distance the ride really begins, there is another 20 hairpins and they just get tighter and tighter. It is a totally mental road.

I will read that report on Norway though, I know I have to go at some time.

Did you see the Berlin police upgraded to Moto Guzzis as well?

It is a bit like recumbents, each to his own and mine serves my purpose very well.

This is that Romanian road, the Transfagarasan:

Oh boy!

But anyway, this has reminded me to put 'Stelvio' in my big journal of places to go.

Beautiful Guzzi, Steve! I had to sell mine when I rescued a dog (unplanned) in 1993. I named the dog Guzzi.

I used to go up the Stelvio at high speed, and gt paid for it. Fortunately i had an engine and 4 wheels. I've always wanted to cycle down it.
