For Sale: ICE QNT disc brakes and lots of other extras

Hi All, I'm selling my ICE QNT, I'm going to miss it but another trike is taking it's place and it has to go. It has got lots of upgrades / extras from the basic spec and is in great condition.

The trike is located in Shropshire, UK, near jct3 of the M54 between Telford and Wolverhampton. Was £1600 now £1500 ono. Viewings welcomed. PM me for more info or for contact details.

It's a 2006 suspension / folding model bought direct from ICE in the summer of 2006. If you are looking at this advert you probably already know how good these trikes are, put skinny slicks on it and it will whizz round a race track, or with fatter tyres it makes for a great day rider or long distance tourer. Whatever you do with it, it will always put a smile on your face :o) ICE used to have a video showing that this would fit in the back of a Smart car (along with a Brompton!) when fully folded and stripped down. I wouldn't normally recommend the full fold and strip but the Q/R kit and rear fold do make it easy to transport in most cars.

So, lets get down to the details;
Good bits / Upgrades / Extras:

Front hydraulic disc brakes - Gatorbrakes (from ICE) with mirrored callipers for that professional symmetrical look. These provide awesome stopping power! yes the standard drum brakes work well but these are in another league.

Rear disc parking brake operated from a control on the lower right hand handle bar - this ensures secure parking when fully laden and stopped on a steep hill.

Rear rack with integral full mudguard and rear light/reflector included

Full mudguards set included, two front and two rear, one rear attached to the rack and one q/r rear for use when not using the rack

Full Quick Release kit fitted including mudguards, rear rack, seat, all three wheels, boom and handlebars

Head rest (original ICE spec, not a home made bodge) with mount for a rear light

Computer mounting kit. This is currently not fitted but includes the mount for the wheel sensor and the mount for you computer head which bolts onto the bottle bosses on the front of the cruciform. Also included is a working 8 function cycle computer

Light / accessory bar mounted on the front derailleur tube gives plenty of space to mount front lights and also acts as a handy handle for manoeuvring the trike by hand when not sitting on it

Large 55 tooth Stronglight chainring for really getting the speed up

Sturdy front chainring guard, protects your rings and teeth and stops you ripping holes in things/people if you bump into them :o)

Two mirrors included

SRAM 9.0 ESP twist shifters operating both front and rear mechs (3x9 gearing)

Brand new SRAM X5 rear mech fitted only last week

Sealed cartridge bearings in the steering/stem/cruciform pivot were replaced last week

Red and Green elastomers included for the rear suspension, it can be run with either or both in place (currently has both installed)

The not quite perfect bits:
I'm just trying to be honest here and point out that it is 6 years old and not brand new and as such does have a few small imperfections but none of these effect the handling, performance, safety, enjoyment or overall look (unless you look very carefully) of the trike. It's best to mention these up front but they really are superficial.

The seat mesh has two small holes in the fabric (see the photos), these were the result of a trip on a bike rack with another bike rubbing against the seat. The holes have been there for nearly 3 years and show absolutely no signs of growing or spreading and do not effect comfort or safety, you probably wouldn't even notice if I didn't point them out.

The bottom left rear part of the rack has been scraped along a wall at some point (reversing without looking where I was going) causing some cosmetic damage. It's still structurally sound and functional and you don't see it unless you're on the floor looking at it.

A small area of the powder coating on the seat frame is flaking off where it contacts the mounts, not visible when the seat is attached and only cosmetic.

Small scuffs on the underbelly of the cruciform, only to be expected on a trike of this age that has been ridden anywhere (would probably polish out)

There are two small marks on the rear swing arm where it has made contact with part of the rack when fully laden and using the softer elastomer (hence why it now has both red and green elastomers installed). I got the guys from ICE to check out the swing arm after this happened, they just grinned and said there was nothing to worry about. Apparently the swing arm is so strong you could probably drill holes through it and it wouldn't make any difference :o)

Remember this trike is 6 years old so has the odd small mark but really is in very good condition and the sparkle red paint job is lovely and shiny, check out the photos to see how good it is.

I may be able to take the trike to the CTC York rally if that helps with viewing / collection
