My machine is a few years old but in decent nick and completely ridable - I've done many dozens of miles on it around London this year. It's a bright yellow machine with carbon fibre mudguards and a rear rack.

27 (3x9) speeds, Shimano gearset; shifters are a simple lever for the chainrings and a trigger type for the rear . Conventional rim brakes. 20 x 1?" wheels - the same size tyres as racing BMXs. I get my tyres from Edwardes in Camberwell.

Your choice of Look or SPD pedals. I might even be able to find some flat ones somewhere if you really want!

Rear wheel rebuilt by Bikefix in Lamb's Conduit Street last year. New forks fitted in 2008, replacing a single-sided setup with more conventional dual forks. Full front and rear suspension.

Lovely fast SWB 'bent, usable in traffic if you have the nerve and it even climbs hills passably - I've done both Crystal Palace and Gipsy Hill on it recently. The tiller-type over-seat steering takes a little getting used to, though, so I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner.

Test-rides are available, but it's set up for me and I'm 6'2" tall. It can be shortened for less leggy riders but I am no mechanic so I can't promise to do this on the spot.

I'd hope to get ?900 or so for it, but I am happy to negotiate.
