Just a quick note that I've started a new Russian Trikes forum (RSS feed here). It's mainly as a suitable location for me to post updates on the repair/restoration of my S-327 trike:

By coincidence another new (second hand) Russian trike owner emailed me at about the same time, and ended up suggesting a forum for owners to exhange notes, discuss spares etc. There's already a ASE Trikes mailing list but I hope the new forum will run usefully alongside this.

I've added a few posts already, including a brief introduction to the Russian trikes scene. Sadly it seems that none of the various manufacturers are currently active and making new trikes, and owners are generally having to fend for themselves when it comes to spares/repairs.

The Russian trikes were a unique and wonderful chapter in recumbent history, with some amazing engineering and workmanship to create their front wheel drive design. But technology has moved on and modern trikes of more conventional design are certainly a better bet for most riders: owning one of these machines is now a labour of love rather than a rational decision - and the spares situation means that keeping them working long-term may not be trivial.

Why not check out the new forum and, especially if you're an owner, post a message and a picture of your trike?
