Hi all,

Got my S-327 back from being fixed by Mike Burrows - pics soon!

Meanwhile I happened to check out

and noticed they've made a few changes - they seem to be actively back in business selling bike trailers which fold up for back-pack style carrying. A bit of machine translation helps (the new stuff is only on the Russian-language version of the site I think):

[translate.google.co.uk]

Also note that with regards to the latest 3x3 trike they say

"STATUS: We are looking for investors for further development and launch of a series"...

Here's hoping they can find some funding! They also mention in the text that a disk brake version of the trike may be possible...

And a version (or option) I'd quite like to see is a 2WD machine with a double-sided rear fork so that it can be made 3x3 using an electric assist motor...

(edit - fixed link)

What sort of efficiency losses do you feel a 3x3 trike might have?

I duuno really - there's certainly the extra drag of a further chain running over two sprockets and through a tensioner... but it's more I think that having that chain to the rear rather (to my mind) defeats the elegance of the front-wheel-drive design.

And while the wheel slip you get with 'just' front drive is occasionally irksome it's not something that 'needs fixing' IMO, for UK on-road use at least (the Russians with rather more snowy days may have a different view!).
