  • Cyclemagic Open Weekend: 18 - 19 April
    Leicester-based Cyclemagic are having an Open Weekend at their Friday Street workshop. Saturday is expected to involve pedal powered Scalextric racing, a cycling history exhibition and cycle jumble, with a social ride planned for Sunday. Contact them via their website, or on 0116 262 5551.

  • Rackheath Ride: 19 April
    Social ride starting from Mike Burrows' workshop in Rackheath, Norwich. Details can be found here on the BHPC forum.

  • SPEZI: 25 - 26 April
    The unique Special Bikes Show held every year in Germersheim, Germany. Amazing one-stop shop for everything Velovisionary. See numerous past reports and their multilingual website www.spezialradmesse.de.

  • Isle of Wight Randonnee: 3 May
    Choice of 100km or 55km rides on the Isle of Wight. Free to enter, and no need to pre-register. Details can be found here.

  • China Bicycle Fair: 4 - 7 May

  • 1st European Hand Made Bicycle Exhibition: 8 - 10 May
    To be held in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, this event will bring together professional and non-professional builders from around the world. Details can be found here.

  • Michigan Recumbent Rally: 9 May
    Displays, test tides, talks and a group ride, in Willow Metropark, Detroit. Details here.

  • Tour de Presteigne, Eco Weekend: 9 - 10 May
    Tour de Presteigne, Eco Weekend and Green Wheels link up to provide a weekend of electric bikes, eco cars and more, including the Tour de Presteigne one hour endurance rally round the streets of Presteigne. Details at http://www.tourdepresteigne.co.uk or call 01544 267163

  • Cycle Oxford Festival: 9 - 10 May
    Two day event featuring Bicycle Polo on Saturday and a host of activites on Sunday, including 'Fastest Bike Mechanic in Oxford' competition, Bike Bell Orchestra and treasure hunt. See here for details.

  • Velo-City 2009: 12 - 15 May

  • 10th Pedersen Treffen: 15 - 17 May

  • Folding Bike Gathering: 22 - 25 May

  • Jersey Recumbent Challenge: 22 - 25 May
    Weekend of races for recumbents and HPVs on the Channel Island of Jersey. There will also be a guided touring ride and plenty of opportunity to explore and socialise. See here for details or call 07797 758505.

  • Smithfield Nocturne: 6 June
    First held in 2007, the Smithfield Nocturne event includes a number of races around the historic Smithfield Market, London, including an Elite Criterium, and a folding bike race complete with Le Mans style start. Free to the public, with a carnival atmosphere. This year, additional events are planned in Edinburgh (30 May) and Blackpool (1 August). See http://www.nocturneseries.com for full details.

  • PedalPalooza, Portland, Oregon, USA: 11 - 27 June

  • Warminster Wobble: 14 June
    Cycle tour of Warminster and Cycle fun day. Meet in the Town Park, 11am - 5pm for trade stands, slow bike race, cycling advice, music and more. Details here.

  • Pedersens Beverwijk Rond 2009: 14th June
    Pedersen gathering at Beverwijk, Netherlands. For more information and updated programme as it is finalised, see here (in Dutch).

  • York Cycle Show: 20 - 21 June
    Thousands of cyclists descend on Velo Vision's home town for a weekend of riding, socialising and bargain hunting. See the CTC Website for details as and when they are available.

  • CycleVision and IHPVA World Championships: 3 - 5 July
    The world's largest recumbent event held each year in the Netherlands. See here for the latest information. Details of the World Championship races can be found here.

  • Tandem Experience Festival: 2 - 5 July
    Bishop's Castle, Shropshire, UK. A free event, incorporating the country's only tandem triathlon. Details of the festival can be found here and details of the triathlon are here.

  • Flanders Tour: 20 - 25 July
    Organised recumbent tour in Flanders, with rides of between 30 and 45 miles each day, including a cultural stop of some kind. The accommodation is camping and meals are provided. For more information and pictures of previous Flanders Tours see here.

  • 20th International Cycling History Conference: 29 July - 1 August

  • International Tandem Rally: 1 - 8 August

  • Mildenhall Cycling Rally: 29 - 31 August

  • Macride 2009: 13 September
    Charity ride over three distances starting in Stratford-upon-Avon, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. For details see here.

  • World Human Powered Speed Championships, Battle Mountain: 14 - 19 September

  • Interbike: 23 - 25 September

  • Herfsttreffen X: 2 - 4 October

  • Paris Cycle Show: 2 - 5 October

  • 6th European Seminar of Velomobile Design: 16 - 17 October
    Taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark. The European Seminar of Velomobile Design aims to bring together expertise in the fields of design and engineering, infrastructure and social acceptance.

  • EICMA Bici: 10 - 15 November
