Velo Vision has always operated on friendly terms with all its customers. With the change of ownership though, it seemed appropriate to bring in some terms of business as a safeguard for everyone. These terms are written to protect the interests of the customer, as much as they are to protect Velo Vision and I will continue to operate a pragmatic light-touch approach to all relationships with customers. How else could it be? So, thanks for reading and I hope you find the terms more than reasonable.

Velo Vision Terms & Conditions, for subscribers, readers and end-users.
Your contract will be fulfilled by Howard Yeomans, trading as Velo Vision, operating from Freshfields, Main Street, Gayton-le-Marsh, Alford, Lincolnshire, LN13 0NS.
If placing your order on-line, you will either see a page or receive an email (if you have supplied your email address) containing a transaction reference acknowledging that your order has been received successfully. The transaction reference together with cleared payment will form a legally binding contract. Until payment is received, a contract shall not be formed. See “(7) Payment”, below.
If your order had been received ‘in person’, by fax or over the telephone, a legally binding contract will be formed on the date payment has been taken. Formal confirmation of your order with your subscription account number will follow, and be sent electronically (email) within 72 hours or if on paper, within 14 days. We will not be responsible if you fail to receive the written confirmation because you have supplied us with an incorrect postal address or email address.
We reserve the right not to accept or process your order for any reason. All orders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by your payment card issuer. If we do not accept your order and your credit/debit card has already been debited, we will notify you and refund your card in full immediately.
A subscription comprises a specific number of issues. If the magazine publishing frequency changes, we will honour the number of issues paid for, not a specific period of time. Similarly, a subscription may ‘expire’ i.e. become due earlier than a previously indicated date if the frequency increases. When a subscription expires, we will contact you to ask if you wish to renew your subscription. New terms, prices and delivery schedule may apply at this point.
We reserve the right not to fulfil and to cancel (or change orders):
- In the event of obvious inaccuracies in prices, except that we may fulfil your order at the correct price;
- If we are unable to obtain payment authorisation from the issuer of your payment card;
- If the products are out of stock.
We will deliver goods to the address you notify to us when you place your orders. Subscriptions will start with the next available issue, unless you indicate otherwise, please allow up to six weeks for delivery of all items ordered. Goods may be delivered in separate packages, and when we do so a delivery note will indicate this to you.
You agree that we will not be responsible for failure to deliver goods if you have supplied us with an incorrect address. We reserve the right to dispose of incorrectly addressed envelopes and their contents without an obligation to refund you or any other person if they are returned to us and despite efforts to contact you we do not receive correct address details.
We will not be liable to you for any delay in delivery or non-delivery of goods in the following circumstances:
- Where the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us;
- Where such delay or failure is due to circumstances beyond our control or the control of our sub–contractors and agents, including but not restricted to war, electricity power failure, utilities failure, failure of telecommunications links, failure of transport infrastructure, fire, flood, government act, act of God, legislative constraints, strikes, labour disputes or malicious damage involving employees.
Our liability to you in the event of goods being lost in despatch shall at our discretion, be limited either to replacement of the missing issues or refund of the cost of the missing issues, to the extent permitted by law we exclude all other liability to you. Our exclusions of liability shall not apply to any damages arising from death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of any of our employees or agents. These Terms and Conditions do not and shall not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
(3) Offers and Promotions
New Subscription Offers
When available, subscription offers may be made available exclusively new subscribers. Delivery terms are the same as indicated above. New subscriptions may be discounted from the full subscription rate advertised and/or include a welcome gift and will be correct at time of going to press. The remainder of the subscription terms are exactly as noted above in “(1) Subscription Terms & Conditions”.
If you have ordered a subscription for someone else a gift, we may at your request delver to the magazine recipient, or the payee depending on which address was specified immediately before the time of payment. Once you‘ve placed your gift order, you’ll receive a postal acknowledgement within 14 days or an email acknowledgement within 72 hours. Please allow up to eight weeks for delivery of the first subscription issue for both UK and Overseas orders. The remainder of the subscription terms are noted above in “(1) Subscription Terms & Conditions”.
If the subscription offer includes a welcome gift, this gift is subject to availability and will be delivered separately within 28 days after your first payment has been taken. Velo Vision reserves the right to supply an alternative gift of the same or higher value. Gifts only available to subscribers on the UK mainland.
The Velo Vision Advocates scheme currently offers a discount of 50% on all items in the velovision.com webshop, excluding subscriptions. Products for delivery purchased with the “advocate” discount code will only be delivered to a single postal address.
(4) Digital Subscriptions
Where a print subscription is offered with a digital content ‘add-on’ provided by Exact Editions, you will have a separate contract with them in addition to this contract. The terms of Exact Editions are available on their website: www.exacteditions.com. Where a wholly digital subscription is provided by Exact Editions, you arrangement is entirely between you and Exact Editions.
(5) All additional non-subscription products
Other products available from Velo Vision including paper back-issues, PDF files, photographs and other media are subject to the same payment conditions. When other goods are bought simultaneously with a subscription, payment and delivery of all goods may be combined and a delivery note and payment receipt will indicate each item purchased.
(6) Cancellations and refunds
For all subscriptions, digital or otherwise, you may cancel your contract at any time by notifying our customer services team in writing (email or paper), or by telephone. See contact details below. We will refund you the cost of the issues not yet issued to you at the time you notify us of your wish to cancel.
Please note that all refunds will be issued in sterling, unless otherwise offered. Your card company will convert the sterling amount into your local currency and may charge an additional fee for completing the transaction. Prices displayed on the shop section of the website will prevail at all times in relation to orders placed on-line. Prices quoted on screen will indicate if they include delivery charges or not and taxes (where applicable). All goods and subscriptions are paid by a one-off payment. In some exceptions, there are prevailing ‘standing orders’ setup and payments received from these customers are covered by the same terms 1-6 as above and 8-9 below.
We reserve the right to increase our prices at any time, but this does not affect your existing pre-paid subscription, as detailed at the time of payment.
Although we try to ensure that all prices are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of your order, we will inform you as soon as possible. You will have the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled. We will refund you in full if you cancel the order and have already paid.
Prices indicated in £ (GBP) will be accurate at the time of display or publishing. Any prices quoted in $, € or any other currency are indicative only. All payments originating from a non-GBP accounts may be subject to adjustment by your bank or credit company due to fees and exchange rates beyond our control.
If you are under 18 or are not using your own credit/debit card or Paypal account to pay for the subscription, you must ask the permission of the credit/debit card holder before entering the payment details.
(8) Personal Information
We use the personal and transactional information (e.g. name, address, e-mail address, credit card details) (“Personal Information”) you supply to us in order to fulfil your subscription order. On the online order form we may ask you about receiving details of our products and services and/or those of third parties which may be of interest to you. If we intend to offer this information you should tick the relevant boxes to indicate whether or not you wish to receive such information. If there are no such boxes, we will not use your details for any other purpose other than to communicate with you about the order.
We take every care and precaution to protect your personal data while it is within our system. Unless a member of our staff has been fraudulent or negligent, we will not be liable to you for any losses you may suffer as a result of unauthorised access by a third party to the information (including in particular credit/debit card details) you transmit when you place an order. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your own credit/debit card details to avoid unauthorised use
(9) General and Contacting Velo Vision
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change. These Terms and Conditions are governed by UK law. You hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the applicable UK courts notwithstanding the jurisdiction where you are based. These Terms and Conditions override any contrary terms or conditions published by us in relation to any order placed by you with us.
