York Rally reflections

Thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome at York Rally this past weekend. It was wonderful to meet so many people, hear such lovely stories about your HPVs, bikes, trikes and much more. To hear how dear Velo Vision is to the community was very affirming.

As discussed with many of you I will be setting up a crowdfunding page to get the magazine back in the public eye and to generate the funds required to start up again. There was also a lot of positive feedback on the ideas about a YouTube channel so I will be planning this out shortly.

Please watch this space and if you can it would be great to see you at the Mildenhall Cycle Rally in August! Many thanks again to the organisers of York Rally and the community for making me feel so welcome.

Kind regards,

Simon Webb,
your new editor.

  1. Simon, VV had an international readership. It may have been published in Britain, but it was read elsewhere. I cannot attend the Mildenhall Rally, so if the vision is changing to tunnel, count me out. The appeal was the international eclecticism and innovation, not more coverage of the English cycling scene.

    1. Hi Chris,

Far from a tunnel vision, I want to continue to open the publication up to the wider audience and provide a platform for wider coverage on all things cycling related.

For example I am already in discussion with people in Guatemala and Dubai about matters out there.

Please do not be alarmed! And you are more than welcome to contact me with any advice or concerns you may have – either on here or via email/telephone.

      Kind regards,

  2. I do hope that plenty of VV fans of the past have their eyes still this way, to give a healthy start to the new readership. I’ll be in the queue Simon.

  3. Why do I feel like I’m the last to know about VeloVision’s rebirth? It seems like its appearance on my Facebook offerings was due to other cycling interests. I hope you have access to the previous subscribers and plan to notify everyone who received the print issues over decades of support. I’m glad you’re taking up the reins to carry on. I look forward to discovering what I’ve missed and what you have planned. Is there a message of intent, vision, mission or what you hope to offer and what areas you’d like input on?
