London-Edinburgh-London 2017

Not a typing error! There are 1448 riders heading from London, to Edinburgh, and back again. Over five days. Here are the essentials:

  • 1441km (895 miles) distance.
  • 11,128m of climbing.
  • 1448 participants.
  • 18 control sites.
  • Runs every four years.
  • Over 50% of participants are from outside the UK. In total 54 nations are represented.
  • 80% of the riders in 2013 finished the ride.
  • Riders have between 46 and 117 hours to complete the challenge, including rest breaks for sleep and food.

Event organiser Danial Webb said “Distance endurance riding continues to capture the public imagination.”
