Getting stuck in the site registration process..? (2 replies)
My apologies to anyone who is having trouble with registration.
I have noticed that a good number of people have registered for the new forum and site, which is great. There is also a growing number of people for whom registration has not been completed. I did have an issue with registration, password reset and recovery which I fixed with the help of one member, so if you are one of the people still trying to register, please first try the Lost Password link and see if that now works for you.
If anyone finds the reset password option gives you this then you have missed the email confirmation message for some reason. I can resend this to users if they contact me directly.
I have realised, finally, that everyone who has a hotmail.co.uk hotmail.com or outlook.com email address cannot receive email from this site or this domain, and I am working to resolve this as soon as possible. I am very sorry for the delays and the frustration caused.
The problem, is a block caused by Microsoft (Hotmail / Outlook) which affects many websites, in particular Wordpress sites, no matter what the domain name or the authenticity of the email. I never even get a bounce, so I assumed messages were delivered. Hotmail / Outlook users cannot fix the problem either–the messages do not even reach your spam folder.
Some velovision.com users cannot therefore, register, subscribe or post anything, until I find a workaround. BUT, while I am waiting for a fix, I will resend account activation messages another way.
All email previously sent to velovision.com, no matter what the sender's address, has been received as normal, the bug only affects outgoing messages.
Incidentally, to anyone who has already registered with an alternative email address, perhaps one that they did not want velovision.com to use, I can change your email address to another one. Contact me by the form (About > Contact us).
I think the Hotmail and Outlook email problem is fixed. But would I bet on it?
